Collyers has a small, but increasing number, of international students studying A levels. Please review the rest of the website to find out more about the sorts of opportunities that are available to all students who enrol at the college.
Why Collyer's?
As a Sixth Form College Collyer's has a strong academic reputation with excellent teaching staff and first rate facilities that are tailored to meet the needs of 16-19 year old students. The students who leave Collyer's have a very good record of finding places at all the major British universities. The atmosphere, with over 1300 students, is friendly, hardworking and supportive. You will benefit from working with well-motivated students and staff who work in a collaborative way to ensure that each individual achieves his/her potential. We find that English students benefit as much from the experience of meeting international students as you do from meeting them. The college specialises in A level courses but there are a wide range of other courses, at different levels, that you can study to give you a varied and appropriate programme of study.
Horsham is a very pleasant place to live and study. With a population of about 60,000 people the town has a full range of shopping and entertainment facilities. Horsham is within easy reach of London to the north and Brighton on the south coast of England. There is a good transport infrastructure in the area with easy access to both Gatwick and Heathrow international airports.
Courses on offer
International students can choose from any of the subjects we have on offer at the college. The provision is flexible so that you can select from a range of subjects and vary the length of study so that our provision will meet your needs. Like all students at the college you will be supported by a full tutorial programme and be able to make use of our excellent learning and study facilities.
College life
The college has a wide range of cultural, recreational, academic and social activities that all students can take part in. Throughout the year there are numerous educational visits and events that enhance the main programme of study. These prove very popular with international students who want to get a real taste of the culture and way of life in this country. Our ethos is to give you the same experience as the British students at the college and this has proved very successful in enabling international students to develop their language skills and get to understand our English sense of humour.
Accommodation
Accommodation will be with local families, most of who have had experience with international students before. You will get a warm welcome and benefit from the support available. It is possible to make other arrangements, you can discuss this during your initial consultation with the college. The college has a canteen that provides food from breakfast through to lunch.
