Initiatives Green Week and Crisp Packet Recycling 14.05.2022

Green Week was run by the Richard Collyer Union (RCU) and included ‘wear green Wednesday’ and a visit from the ‘Inspiration Eco Station’, a refurbished milk float themed on sustainability and raising awareness of environmental issues. The ‘Inspiration Eco Station’ was strategically stationed outside the library where it gained a lot of attention from passing students, who engaged volunteers from Sussex Green Living in discussions about climate change and how to live more sustainably. The volunteers included organiser Carrie Cort, and Nicola Peel who previously visited the college in September to deliver the first ‘Kirsty Brown’ talk on Biomimicry

Sussex Green Living donated two recycling bins to the college for the purpose of recycling crisp packets, an issue highlighted regularly by students and staff. A sign has been designed by an Environment officer of the RCU. The RCU will coordinate with the premises teams to site the bins in the best positions around the college for staff and students to recycle their crisp packets.
