Summer Reunion Event at Chichester Cathedral

This year’s OCA summer reunion involved a trip to Chichester Cathedral. The visit was attended by 11 Old Collyerians from across five decades of Collyer’s cohorts.

The day commenced with a guided tour of the twelfth-century building which gave an introduction to the cathedral’s medieval brasses, stained glass and stonework and included an account of the spire’s dramatic collapse and rebuilding in the mid-nineteenth century. There was also an opportunity to learn more about the cathedral’s more contemporary devotional artworks including stained glass, tapestries and sculptures.

After some free time to explore the building and the cathedral close, the reunion group rounded off the visit with lunch at the nearby Côte Brasserie.
