Study Programmes
A Level programme (2 years)
Most of our international students join us for a two year A Level programme, just like our UK and European students.
A Levels are the traditional pathway to a UK university and the qualification is widely recognised around the world. At Collyer’s we offer an extremely wide range of subjects at A Level.
Typically, students will choose three A Level subjects to be studied over a two-year period. Occasionally students may choose four subjects. This may be possible if a student’s grades from their previous school are very high, subject to approval from one of our Heads of House at Enrolment.
For a two year A Level programme, students will begin their studies in late August/ early September.
Entry requirements: IELTS for UKVI – 6.0 overall with no lower than 5.5 in Reading and Writing. The College will assess school reports and benchmark grades against our UK entry requirements.
Pre-A Level programme (5 months)
We welcome students for a Pre-A Level programme every January. This programme is ideal for students who would benefit from some additional time to improve their English and/or acclimatise to the UK teaching style before beginning their A Level studies after the summer break.
On successful completion of the pre-A Level course at Collyer’s you will be able to progress to the full two year A Level course to prepare you for university entry.
During the programme students will join existing classes, normally across three subject areas. After the first term, students may change their subjects so they can try different areas before deciding what to study when they return in September.
Pre-A Level students will build confidence within an outstanding UK teaching environment and become fully settled so that they may begin their A Level classes the following Autumn with the best possible chance for success.
Entry requirements: IELTS for UKVI – 5.0 overall with no less than 5.0 in Reading and Writing.
