About the Course
This is a recreational course for people who think Maths isn’t for them or people who find Maths hard. In this course we will go back to the basics of Mathematics. Maths is a building block subject; if a notion hasn’t been understood it makes it hard to understand what comes next. This course will go back to those building block basics.
This course will be relaxed, friendly, and inclusive. Everyone has a unique brain and way of thinking and learning and we think that’s great. We will progress slowly but surely as a group for everyone, wherever they are up to in their maths understanding. We will help you to learn and gain confidence. There are no assessments. If the learners want to, it will be possible to progress later to a qualification course (Entry 3 or Functional Skills).
Delivery
Learners will attend 6 weekly lessons in college.
Learners also benefit from access to the college library during our evening opening times, including computers, study stations, print-based and electronic learning materials, printers and scanners.
