News Arts Society Competition Winner Announced 19.06.2020
The Arts Society Poster Competition has been judged online by a panel of distinguished judges from the Society. The winner was Collyer’s second year A Level Art student Charlotte Williams, whose beautiful use of pattern and colour to represent the seasons, really caught the eye of the judges. The posters will be used throughout the Horsham District to promote lectures held by the Arts Society at The Capitol, Horsham each month.
Collyer’s Head of Art and Design Susie McAlister said: “Charlotte has already become a favoured young artist in Horsham. Dame Julie Walters presented her with the Samaritans Christmas Card Competition prize in December for two beautiful designs, which were then sold in high numbers throughout the district.
“Charlotte is going to study a Foundation Course in Art & Design next year with plans to study a Fine Art degree at possibly Goldsmiths, Central St Martins or Chelsea. She certainly has a bright and exciting future ahead of her.”
Collyer’s Deputy Principal Steve Martell said: “Congratulations to Charlotte, who is a hugely gifted artist! Massive thanks to Susie for all her creative support, and to the Arts Society for making sure the 2020 competition went ahead despite the lockdown.”
