English as an Additional Language

Does your young person speak English as their second language? Are they worried that this might be a disadvantage in their Collyer’s career? Help is at hand with English as an Additional Language support.​

WHAT IS IT?​

English as an Additional Language support offers help for students whose first language isn’t English.​

WHAT DOES IT DO?​

General EAL support helps students with topics such as vocabulary, grammar and academic writing. Subject-specific support is also available for A Level English Literature, A Level English Language and Literature and AS English Language.​

HOW DOES IT WORK?​

Students are taught in small groups to help them to gain confidence and fluency and to improve their understanding of the skills required to achieve success. ​
