Student Stories
Tania, 2007 -2009
“It is a lovely sixth form college. I am sure you’ll miss the time there once you graduate, so do cherish it!”
Tania won a place at UAL Central Saint Martins for BA product design after two years with Collyer’s. After university she worked in homeware design with a number of major brands. She is now considering taking a MSc in project management in Hong Kong with the intention of joining an interior design firm to work on larger scale projects.

“There are few different reasons why I chose Collyer’s. First was the variety of subjects provided here. I was enthusiastic about Politics which is a subject that was not provided at my previous school. Secondly, I believe living with a homestay is more useful to learn about British culture than living in a boarding school. Also, the location of the College is perfect.”
Son Tran – Vietnam
“My best memory in Collyer’s is when I and a few other friends joined the cultural exchange program with Rikkyo Japanese School in Horsham. We had the chance to go to their school and experience the traditions of Japan, something that I’ve always admired. After leaving Collyer’s, I’m hoping to study International Business Management.”
Morgan Coakley – South Africa
“Coming from overseas I worried that I might not fit in, but everyone has been very welcoming and I feel that I have had the opportunity to learn in a positive and committed atmosphere. I enjoy all my subjects so it has been hard to choose a direction so going to the UCAS Exhibition and talking to teachers has really helped me decide on a career path. I hope to study Medicine in the future.”

“I completed my A Levels at Collyer’s in 2020 and currently I am studying Education at the University of Manchester. Studying at Collyer’s has been a great learning experience, and an opportunity for me to grown personally and professionally. Collyer’s provides a lot of support for international students, helping us to adapt life in England.”
