Collyer’s Men’s rugby side were runner’s up to Cardinal Newman in the 2022 Sussex Cup, after defeat in the final at Brighton Rugby Club.

Huge congratulations to the men’s team and the outstanding coaching group of Glenn Jones, Emma Cooper, and physio Nicola Deans. The signs are extremely encouraging for the future, and we should all be incredibly proud of their achievements this season.
“It was great to see such a strong travelling support in attendance from the Collyer’s community, which is massively appreciated!”
Collyer’s Head of Sports Academy, John Burroughs, was delighted: “We are really benefitting from our close partnership with Horsham Rugby Club, with links across both the Men’s and Women’s game, where Horsham has two thriving Under 18 teams. The Rugby Academy here at Collyer’s is making huge strides and achieving runner’s-up in County, after so long without competitive fixtures and with a young side, is a significant achievement.”
Vice Principal Pastoral) Andrea John said: “We owe enormous thanks to all involved in our sport academies and the indefatigable John Burroughs for widening participation so wonderfully at Collyer’s. We are certainly attracting elite players from across the region and our sports academies in basketball, football, netball, and rugby have grown enormously popular.”
